This North County San Diego project was a 90’s Mediterranean style interior, with a craftsman exterior that didn’t flow.
Our clients preferred a mid-century modern aesthetic, so we squared off the arches, smoothed the textured drywall, and remodeled the kitchen, bathrooms and added custom built in storage throughout.
A creative family of four, and avid art collectors, our clients wanted an eclectic space to showcase the colorful artwork they purchased, but were keeping in mind that they could eventually sell the home. We created a contemporary, yet neutral palate, with lots of display and shelving for their families books, photos and decor. We used a mix of natural white oak and crisp white cabinetry in the kitchen, and repeated the white oak in the bathrooms.
Lighting was essential in the primary bathroom, so we provided illuminated mirrors along with recessed track lighting in the ceiling above for a sleek and minimal look. The full height tile splash was custom ordered and hand placed on site for a random look.
